MRI Technician – Contractor Position
Location: Naval Hospital Jacksonville, Florida
Employer: US Got People (USGP)

USGP is currently seeking a skilled MRI Technician to provide high-quality diagnostic imaging services to our military service members, veterans, and their families at the Radiology Department of Naval Hospital Jacksonville, FL. This is a rewarding opportunity to support those who serve while working in a dynamic federal healthcare environment.

Position Benefits

  • Competitive Pay: $40.00/hour + Health & Welfare Stipend

  • Work Schedule: Monday – Friday 7:30am to 12:00am and 8:00am to 4:30pm on federal holidays. Shifts are 8.5-9hour periods to include either a 30 or 60 minute lunch. No more than 80 hour every 2 weeks.
  • Available Current Schedule: Monday – Friday 11am – 9:30pm or 2:00pm to 10:30pm, or 3:00pm to 11:30pm.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Graduate of a program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT)
  • Certifications:
  • Certified in MRI by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or Red Cross
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of MRI experience within the past 3 years

Immunization Requirements (Must be current or able to obtain):

  • Hepatitis B (series and titer)
  • Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis)
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
  • Varicella (Chickenpox)
  • TB (Tuberculosis) test
  • Seasonal Influenza (flu) vaccine
  • COVID-19 vaccine (if applicable)

Primary Responsibilities

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Perform a full range of MRI procedures as ordered by healthcare providers
  • Prepare patients for scans, explain procedures, and ensure comfort and safety during imaging
  • Accurately position patients and make necessary technical adjustments as directed by the radiologist
  • Conduct daily equipment warm-ups and quality control tests following manufacturer guidelines
  • Maintain cleanliness and functionality of MRI equipment in accordance with departmental protocols
  • Monitor supply levels and recommend repairs or service when image quality is compromised
  • Identify and differentiate between image artifacts and true pathology
  • Make minor adjustments to imaging equipment and ensure correct programming and scanning techniques
  • Stay informed on the latest MRI technology trends and practices; share recommendations for departmental improvements
  • Be prepared to respond to medical emergencies, including cardiac or respiratory arrest, by initiating appropriate resuscitative measures

U.S. Got People is seeking a qualified Optometrist to provide full-time services to active duty service members, veterans, and their families at the Ophthalmology and Optometry Clinics located at Naval Hospital Jacksonville and Naval Branch Health Clinic Jacksonville, Florida.

Position Overview
Schedule:
• Naval Hospital Jacksonville: 24/7 coverage, flexible shifts
• Naval Branch Health Clinic: Monday – Friday, 6:30 AM – 4:00 PM

Minimum Qualifications
Degree:
• Doctor of Optometry from an accredited institution
Certifications:
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications
Experience:
• Minimum of 12 months experience in the last 36 months as an optometrist in a hospital or clinical setting performing advanced procedures, including refractive surgery care
Board Certification:
• Certified by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry
Licensure:
• Hold a current, unrestricted therapeutic optometry license

Key Responsibilities
• Conduct comprehensive eye exams and diagnose routine and complex visual or ocular conditions
• Provide pre- and post-operative care for refractive procedures, including LASIK, PRK, and ICL
• Perform contact lens fittings, prescribe corrective lenses, and implement vision therapy
• Identify and manage binocular vision disorders and neuromuscular impairments
• Deliver emergency eye care services, including treatment of trauma or acute pathology
• Promote preventive care through education on eye health, hygiene, and protective measures
• Refer patients requiring specialized or surgical intervention to appropriate providers
• Accurately document patient history, clinical findings, medication use, and treatments
• Participate in interdisciplinary patient care planning, case reviews, and medical board evaluations
• Assist with coordination and review of Limited Duty (LIMDU) boards for active-duty personnel
• Provide consultation and education to staff and community on eye health and visual conditions

  • Diagnose, treat, and counsel patients across all organ systems
  • Recognize emergency conditions and appropriately triage or refer complex cases
  • Participate in and lead staff training, in-service education, and clinical lectures
  • Encourage health promotion and preventive care through patient education and annual wellness visits
  • Prescribe medications and immunizations in accordance with established protocols
  • Build collaborative relationships with physicians, nurses, and support staff to enhance care delivery
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation and attend team meetings for quality improvement
